We are a charitable bunch at Fisher German!

Every year, colleagues at Fisher German are able to nominate and then vote for a new charity of the year, which is a UK based charity of a similar size to FG. The idea is for us to pool our charitable resources and make a real difference to a charity which isn't often in the spotlight. We will work in partnership with that charity for a period of 12 months. Our Charity of the Year for 2019/20 is Re-engage.

What we do

All colleagues are welcome to join in with fundraising activities within their offices or firmwide. We also wholly encourage colleagues to tackle individual or small group challenges in aid of our corporate charity. Previous individual fundraising has included races, muddy challenges and even sky diving! We have a charity committee who meet to brainstorm new ideas for fundraising.

These are just some of the central fundraising activities we run:

  • Dress down Friday – this happens in most offices on the last Friday of the month, adding £1 or more to their charity box
  • Online auction, where colleagues donate items and experiences for their fellow employees to bid on, with all proceeds going to the charity
  • Bake sales - inspired by The Great British Bake Off
  • Sports - from cricket to rugby, we often hold sports games where colleagues can purchase food and drink with funds going to the charity
  • Christmas Jumper Days

Previous charities we have supported

In 2017/18 our Charity of the Year was Kidscan, who are dedicated to beating children’s cancer. Thanks to the fantastic fundraising across our offices, we raised £6,911.80, really making a difference to the charity!

In 2018/19 our Charity of the Year was Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, who are dedicated to providing nurses to care for critically ill children across the UK and we raised £8,336.38 for the charity.

The Henry Sale Foundation was established in 2015 following the death of Henry Sale, Fisher German’s Joint Managing Partner when the firm was established. The aim of the Foundation is to donate and raise money for a range of good causes that were close to Henry’s heart. The Foundation will support causes which:

  • Encourage better management of the countryside and its way of life, and the rural economy
  • Promote social inclusion
  • Provide an educational resource not otherwise available
  • Enable greater participation in sport and healthy recreation
  • Provide accessibility, mobility and recreation to disabled people, including those who are victims of a traumatic event

Every year, Fisher German donates a percentage of distributable profit to the charity. Fisher German also holds an annual Henry Sale Memorial Cricket Match to raise awareness of the charity and to honour Henry's memory.
