Watch out for pipelines

Watch out for pipelines

Our networks of underground pipelines carry products such as oil, gas and chemical at extremely high pressure. If disturbed or ruptured, releasing the product inside could result in massive, irreversible damage to the environment and explosion, causing injury or even fatality to those on-site.

When planning or undertaking works within 50 metres of these pipelines or in the same parcel of land, you must contact the operator by phone (if known) or by using the free to use enquiry service, LinesearchbeforeUdig.  Never assume the route of the pipeline or rely on field boundary markers for the exact location.

Most normal agricultural activities associated with working the land can be carried out without notification; however, some activities may require on-site supervision, so it is important to always discuss your plans with the operator.
